Game Recap

The Panther baseball team opened up Northern Indiana Conference play in dramatic fashion Wednesday night by beating Mishawaka 3-2 in 10 innings. Senior Carl Michalski threw 8 innings, giving up 2 unearned runs, striking out 15 Cavemen and issuing only 1 walk. After shutting down Mishawaka in the 9th and 10th innings the Panthers got things rolling in the bottom of the 10th. Tyler White led off the frame with a double down the left field line. Senior Isaiah Henry then sacrificed him to 3rd base leaving it up to senior Cole Opaczewski. With the count at 2-1 Opaczewski deposited the next offering over the left fielders head to drive in the winning run. Henry, Michalski, and junior Bryce Mejer led the way offensively with 2 hits apiece. Opaczewski also picked up the win by throwing a scoreless 10th. The Panthers next game is Friday at Riley High School against the Wildcats. 1st pitch is 5 o’clock.
