Game Recap

Washington took on John Glenn last night at Newton Park. It was a tough game, starting with a quick bench goal against us at 1 minute and 30 seconds from the initial whistle. At minute 10’ Coach Cruz made a substitution putting in freshmen Ricardo Ramirez. Within 2 minutes into the game Ricardo and Axel Valenzuela reunited making a magical play that led Ricardo Ramirez to scored bringing the entire team back to their feet. Axel Valenzuela not only assisted Ricardo with the 2 goals he scored, but he scored 2 goals as well; assisted by Miguel Ramirez and Ricardo Ramirez. The match ended 4-4 taking us to two 7 minute OT halves. The scored remained the same and it forced the battle to end in Penalty Kicks. Freshmen Jonathan Castañeda was the hero of the night, scoring the final penalty kick which gave Washington High its win. Overall Washington Record (8-5) and NIC Record (4-4). Next match is vs. Riley at Home on Thursday September 24th… Come and support the Boys Soccer team… lets go panthers!
